The Centre was established in response to a federal study on the problem of violence against women, triggered by the 1989 murder of 14 women at \u00c9cole Polytechnique in Montreal.\u00a0CREVAWC joined the Faculty of Education at the University of Western Ontario in 2001.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">CREVAWC facilitates the collaboration of individuals, groups and institutions representing the diversity of the community to pursue research questions and training opportunities to understand and prevent violence and abuse.&nbsp;The Centre serves local, national and international communities by producing useful information and tools to assist in the daily work to prevent and stop violence towards women and children and vulnerable adults.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/learningtoendabuse.ca\">Le Centre de recherche et d&#8217;\u00e9ducation sur la violence envers les femmes et les enfants<\/a><\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Le Centre de recherche et d&#8217;\u00e9ducation sur la violence envers les femmes et les enfants (CREVEFE) a \u00e9t\u00e9 fond\u00e9 en 1992 dans le cadre d&#8217;une collaboration entre <a href=\"http:\/\/www.uwo.ca\/\">l&#8217;Universit\u00e9 Western de l&#8217;Ontario<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fanshawec.ca\/\">le Coll\u00e8ge Fanshawe<\/a> de <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lccewa.ca\/\">l&#8217;Ontario et le Comit\u00e9 de coordination de Londres pour mettre fin \u00e0 la maltraitance des femmes<\/a>. Le Centre a \u00e9t\u00e9 cr\u00e9\u00e9 en r\u00e9ponse \u00e0 une \u00e9tude f\u00e9d\u00e9rale sur le probl\u00e8me de la violence envers les femmes, d\u00e9clench\u00e9e par le meurtre de 14 femmes \u00e0 l&#8217;\u00c9cole Polytechnique de Montr\u00e9al en 1989. It is housed within the School of Criminology at Simon Fraser University in&nbsp;Vancouver.&nbsp; Its mandate is to facilitate and conduct collaborative participatory action research on violence against women and children, in order to raise awareness and affect relevant policy, procedure, programming and development. The Centre has worked with provincial and federal governments, such as Justice and Health, and the Office of the Representative of Children and Youth, as well as with other universities.&nbsp; However, it primarily collaborates with community-based organizations, such as the BC Society of Transition Houses, EVA BC, &nbsp;and has worked with West Coast LEAF and the Rise Women\u2019s Legal Centre. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/fredacentre.com\/\">Le Centre Freda pour la recherche sur la violence envers les femmes et les enfants<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Le FREDA Centre a \u00e9t\u00e9 cr\u00e9\u00e9 en 1992 comme l&#8217;un des cinq premiers centres de recherche sur la violence financ\u00e9s par le CRSH et Sant\u00e9 Canada. Il est h\u00e9berg\u00e9 par l&#8217;\u00c9cole de criminologie de l&#8217;Universit\u00e9 Simon Fraser \u00e0 Vancouver.&nbsp; Son mandat est de faciliter et de mener des recherches participatives sur la violence envers les femmes et les enfants, afin de sensibiliser et d&#8217;influencer les politiques, les proc\u00e9dures, les programmes et le d\u00e9veloppement. RESOLVE is committed to supporting community-based research that leads to positive results. Our work seeks to uncover the causes of violence and map out effective strategies to prevent and alleviate that violence. With centres in&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.umanitoba.ca\/centres\/resolve\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\">Manitoba<\/a>&nbsp;(administrative centre),&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ucalgary.ca\/resolve\/\" target=\"_blank\">Alberta<\/a>, and&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/research-groups.usask.ca\/resolve\/\" target=\"_blank\">Saskatchewan<\/a>, RESOLVE creates partnerships among community agencies, government departments, and universities across the prairie provinces.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/umanitoba.ca\/resolve\/\">RESOLVE : Recherche et \u00e9ducation pour des solutions \u00e0 la violence et aux abus<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">RESOLVE est un r\u00e9seau de recherche bas\u00e9 dans les Prairies qui coordonne et soutient la recherche visant \u00e0 mettre fin \u00e0 la violence, en particulier celle qui touche les filles et les femmes. RESOLVE s&#8217;engage \u00e0 soutenir la recherche communautaire qui m\u00e8ne \u00e0 des r\u00e9sultats positifs. Actually mainly housed at Laval University, members are affiliated to six different universities in Quebec.&nbsp;The RAIV brings together 30 co-researchers, 20 partners from the practice fields,&nbsp;more than 200 graduated students and many collaborators at national and international levels.&nbsp;Current research priorities and programs focus on&nbsp;the factors associated with intimate, family, and structural violence, the links between different forms of violence perpetrated or endured in different life contexts, and the consequences for individuals, families, and society. RAIV includes also studies on the social responses to violence (community and institutional services, legal, systemic, and state responses), and this at the different levels of the intervention continuum, be they primary, secondary or tertiary prevention. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.raiv.ulaval.ca\/en\">Le RAIV (Recherche appliqu\u00e9e, interdisciplinaire sur la violence intime, familiale et structurelle)<\/a><\/strong>, anciennement appel\u00e9 CRI-VIFF, a \u00e9t\u00e9 cr\u00e9\u00e9 en 1992. Principalement h\u00e9berg\u00e9 \u00e0 l&#8217;Universit\u00e9 Laval, ses membres sont affili\u00e9s \u00e0 six universit\u00e9s diff\u00e9rentes du Qu\u00e9bec. The MMFC supports collaborative action-oriented research in Atlantic Canada through partnerships with family violence public service providers, community organizations and government. Our 2016-2021 strategic research priorities include violence against people with disabilities; risk assessment and risk assessment tools; inclusion of family violence in the curriculum and training of professionals; trafficking of women and girls in Atlantic Canada; violence against Aboriginal women and girls; violence against gender minorities; training in the justice system; and sexual violence.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.unb.ca\/mmfc\/\">Le Centre Muriel McQueen Fergusson<\/a><\/strong> pour la recherche sur la violence familiale (CMMF) a \u00e9t\u00e9 cr\u00e9\u00e9 au sein de la Facult\u00e9 des arts en 1993, gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 une collaboration entre l&#8217;Universit\u00e9 du Nouveau-Brunswick et la Fondation Muriel McQueen Fergusson.
